Uppsala Vocational Upper Secondary School Jälla is a high school offering the Construction and Civil Engineering program, Electrical and Energy program, Plumbing and Property program, Natural Resource program, Vehicle and Transport program, as well as the Introductory program.

Additionally, the school offers adapted upper secondary education for approximately 650 students and is located about 6 kilometers from Uppsala city center with good bus connections.

Description of Duties

As a special needs teacher, you are part of the Student Health Service and participate in the promotional and preventive work for students' development. The role involves actively working with students in need of special support, conducting assessments, writing action plans, and providing advice and supervision to other teaching staff. In this role, the special needs teacher teaches students individually and in groups. You are also part of the Student Health Team, which works closely with the teaching staff. The Student Health Team also drives the promotional and preventive work at the school together.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a teaching license and are trained as a special needs teacher or special educator, or alternatively have an academic education in the special educational field that the employer deems relevant for the position.

We would appreciate it if you have experience working as a special needs teacher and experience working at an upper secondary school. It is an advantage if you have experience working with students in need of special support and supervising teaching staff. Knowledge of systems such as Pro-Renata and Unikum is also considered meritorious.

You have good collaboration skills and work closely with students, colleagues, and guardians in a responsive and flexible manner. You build trusting relationships, communicate clearly, and contribute to a good collaborative climate regarding each student's development.

You have pedagogical insight and a very good understanding of students' different prerequisites and needs. You adapt teaching, interaction, and communication so that all students are given the best possible conditions to acquire knowledge and develop based on their individual goals.

You are structured and plan, organize, and follow up on your work in an efficient manner. You work systematically with documentation, action plans, and follow-ups, ensuring that interventions are carried out and evaluated in a clear and qualitative manner.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.
