The Supreme Court's main task is to guide the application of law through precedents. The Supreme Court is the final instance for civil cases, criminal cases, and matters decided by the Court of Appeal. In addition to its main role as a precedent-setting court, the Supreme Court also examines matters regarding retrial, judicial error, restoration of lost time, requests for extradition from other states, and certain matters concerning lawyers.

The Court aims to be a modern and attractive workplace with a special focus on meaningful and developmental tasks, individually tailored competence development, significant opportunities to influence procedures and working methods, as well as engaging and developmental leadership. The Court actively works on operational development with a special focus on digitalization. The goal is for employees to be involved and active in the development work.

A total of approximately 110 people work at the Supreme Court, of whom 16 are judges (Justices of the Supreme Court). The Supreme Court is organized into two judicial divisions and a registry. The registry consists of three preparatory units and an administrative unit that includes court clerks, the registrar's office, archives, and other administrative functions.

Job Description

As a Court Clerk at the Supreme Court, you will be offered varied administrative tasks in an important operation that combines administration and service. Together with other court clerks and on behalf of the judges in the court, you will handle measures in various types of cases and matters. The tasks include, among other things, receiving and registering documents, handling correspondence, expediting judgments and decisions, and monitoring deadlines. You will have many written or telephone contacts with parties, representatives, authorities, and the public, thereby contributing to ensuring that everyone who comes into contact with the court receives good service and treatment. The work places high demands on efficiency and accuracy as you handle several different cases and matters in parallel.

The Supreme Court constantly develops its working methods, and you are therefore expected to perform other administrative tasks that may arise in the operation over time.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have completed upper secondary education. Post-secondary education with a legal focus is meritorious. It is also meritorious if you have experience of administrative tasks from a court, especially from the Court of Appeal.

You have a pronounced sense of service and quality. You have a good ability to drive the work forward and find great engagement in administrative work. You create good relationships with other colleagues and contribute your competence to the group's joint work. To thrive with us, you need to be able to handle different tasks, people, and situations, as well as have the ability to work efficiently and solve problems. During periods of high workload, your ability to prioritize and plan your work is especially important.

You have a good ability to express yourself orally and in writing in Swedish, and you speak and understand English. You have good knowledge of the Office package and see the computer, email, and telephone as natural work tools.
