Fornbackaskolan is a two-stream primary school (grades F-6) with approximately 320 students and 80 staff members. We operate as both a regular primary school and an adapted primary school, which includes a department for students with mobility impairments. The school also houses its own special education group and a municipal special education group.

Fornbackaskolan is a multicultural school located in the heart of a residential area where most of our students live.

At Fornbackaskolan, we work based on a language- and knowledge-developing approach. The importance of communication and interaction is central here. Teachers use cooperative support structures to encourage students to communicate and use language actively. We also focus on strengthening students' reading skills by systematically training decoding and language comprehension. We actively work to increase students' vocabulary by introducing new words in meaningful contexts and providing opportunities for students to use these words in conversation exercises or their own written texts.

Through an accessible learning environment, we ensure that all students have a positive learning experience and the opportunity to reach their full potential. Classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards and tablets. All tablets are equipped with software available on Skolon, the municipality's shared digital platform.

We participate in the "Trivselprogrammet" (Well-being Program), an initiative for activity and inclusion, where friendly and respectful well-being leaders in grades 3–6 create opportunities for increased activity during recess.

Fornbackaskolan is seeking an overarching special educator responsible for the primary school grades F-6. As a special educator at Fornbackaskolan, you are part of the school's student health team. Together with other professionals, you are responsible for the school's overall student health work, focusing on promoting and preventive work at the organizational and group levels.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Leading pedagogical supervision and serving as a qualified conversation partner and advisor in pedagogical matters for colleagues, guardians, and other relevant parties. You will also supervise colleagues with the aim of increasing understanding and knowledge of how relational leadership promotes student well-being and goal achievement.
  • Together with school leadership and teaching staff, conduct follow-ups and evaluations of student results, and lead the development of pedagogical work with the goal of meeting the needs of all students.
  • Responsible for conducting pedagogical assessments and analyzing difficulties at the organizational, group, and individual levels. You will develop measures to meet student needs through changes at the group and school levels, through instructional leadership and stimulation, through additional adaptations, and through special support.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Special Education
