At Hökarängsskolan, we are now looking for an engaged student assistant/nursing assistant for a student in grade 5 with diabetes. You will become part of a safe, competent, and team-oriented group where we together create the best conditions for every student. Here you will meet colleagues with drive, experience, and a shared desire to develop.

Hökarängsskolan is a comprehensive school (grades F-9) with approximately 550 students, including an after-school center, youth club, and adapted primary school.

What we offer

What often comes up when our employees describe their workplace is the sense of community. Here there is a strong collegium where ideas are shared, each other is supported, and challenges are tackled together.

You will also meet a school leadership that is engaged, present, and knowledgeable about the operations. This creates security and clear direction. There is pride in the mission here – and a desire to constantly develop.

Your role

You will work as a student assistant/nursing assistant with responsibility for supporting a student in grade 5.

The assignment involves supporting the student in managing their diabetes and ensuring safety and participation in all school activities.

Duties include, among other things:

  • Support in self-care related to diabetes, such as blood sugar checks and insulin management according to prescription
  • Supervision and preventive work to ensure stable blood sugar levels during the school day
  • Support during meals and physical activity
  • Noticing and acting upon symptoms of high or low blood sugar
  • Collaboration with guardians, teachers, and school health services

You work closely with the class teacher and other professionals around the student and are an important part of creating a functioning and safe whole.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for you who:

  • Are trained as a nursing assistant or have equivalent experience
  • Have knowledge of, or experience in, diabetes care (meritorious)
  • Are confident in handling medical tasks or willing to learn this
  • Have experience working with children or young people, preferably in a school setting
  • Have a strong commitment to children's development and well-being
  • Are calm, responsible, and structured
  • Have good collaboration skills and thrive in close work with both students and colleagues
  • Are flexible, receptive, and solution-focused

The City of Stockholm works with competence-based recruitment aimed at considering every person's competence and thereby combating discrimination.

To work at our schools, you must present a valid extract from the police criminal record and suspicion register before an offer of employment is made.

Within the Education Administration, we apply individual salary setting regulated by HÖK and General Provisions (AB).
