Job Description

As a Support Pedagogue (Stödpedagog), your duties involve supporting, activating, and supervising individuals in their daily lives at either a children's home or a short-term residential facility, depending on where you are employed. Together with the rest of the staff, you are responsible for planning, implementing, documenting, and evaluating the operations.

The overarching goal is to keep the user's needs at the center and continuously adapt the content to make it meaningful for the user. You help create conditions for the users' stay by organizing activities and opportunities for social contact.

Your task is to fulfill the goals in the LSS (Law on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) plan regarding self-determination, participation, and privacy for the individual user. You perform day-to-day and planned support measures based on the user's individual needs and wishes in accordance with LSS. Examples of tools for this include creating implementation plans, other documentation, and evidence-based methods. You contribute to creating a meaningful and secure stay where the operations are shaped according to the users' specific strengths, interests, and needs. Care work is included.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have post-secondary education comprising at least 200 YH (Vocational Higher Education) credits or 60 university credits. The education should have a clear focus on the disability sector and/or the behavioral science sector.

To be considered for the position, we require that you have at least 1 year of experience working within LSS. You also have at least 1 year of experience working with individuals with autism and/or intellectual disabilities.

Previous experience with social documentation and MarteMeo is considered an advantage. Experience working with children with disabilities, challenging behavior, or AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) is also a merit.

You have good computer skills and can express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.

A B-driver's license for manual transmission is a requirement.

Swimming proficiency is a merit.

Personal suitability is highly valued. In this role, you will support children and young people with disabilities who show high sensitivity, placing high demands on your responsiveness to their needs. You should have a low-affective approach and an understanding of challenging behavior.

About the Workplace

The children's home is aimed at children and young people granted permanent residence under LSS §9:8. All users have an autism diagnosis, and challenging behavior occurs in daily work.

Users have varying needs, interests, and wishes. Interventions and activities are guided by needs and are performed individually with the specific user or together with other users in a group.

In the Disability Support Administration, approximately 3,000 employees work together to create and develop even better support and services for people with disabilities. Our operations cover LSS, social psychiatry, personal assistance, escorts and substitutes, and healthcare. Even severely ill children cared for at home are part of our mission. We work for everyone's right to good health, opportunities for work and occupation, and the ability to participate in society based on their conditions.
