Årstaskolan is a preschool to grade 9 school with approximately 880 students and 120 employees located at two geographical sites. Grades F-6 operate in the original school near Årsta Square, while grades 7-9 are temporarily located at Gullmarsplan. This position is currently based at the lower secondary school level (grades 7-9).

Your role

In the role of Special Education Teacher in Mathematics at Årstaskolan, you will primarily meet students with a need for special support. You will work directly with students, individually or in groups, but also together with other teachers to create the best conditions for our students' learning and development. It is important that you have an easy time building relationships with students and guardians, and that you have an unpretentious approach to working in collaboration with colleagues. At the lower secondary level, we are currently investing in mathematics with smaller groups in mathematics in some grade levels.

Your qualifications and experience

We are looking for you who have a degree as a Special Education Teacher in mathematics; if you also have experience in Swedish, it is an advantage.

We are looking for you who have:

• Teaching certification
• Special Education Teacher degree with a focus on mathematics
• Several years of experience working as a Special Education Teacher in mathematics at the lower secondary level.
• Clear relational leadership

Advantageous if you have:

• Special Education Teacher degree or experience with language, writing, and reading development in Swedish.
• Good IT skills

The assignment also includes independently finding solutions for students' development. You mentor staff regarding different forms of adaptations, and are responsible for planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of teaching and interventions together with your colleagues. You contribute your expertise in the creation of pedagogical assessments, action plans, and intervention programs.

We place great importance on your personal qualities. Interviews may take place continuously during the application period. During July, we will pause recruitment due to holidays but will resume in August. In the event of employment, an extract from the criminal record register is required.
