Our School

Hedvig Eleonora School is a well-known municipal primary school located in central Östermalm in inner-city Stockholm. Approximately 320 students study here from preschool class to grade 6. We look after the student's entire day and always strive to ensure that everyone can benefit from the education on equal terms. Together, we create the best conditions for achieving the highest results. We have high expectations of our students, and they have high expectations of us. The after-school center is integrated, and the after-school staff follow the students throughout the school day. For students in grades 4–6, an after-school club is offered after the school day.

The student's entire day is in focus, and we always strive to ensure that all students can benefit from the education on equal terms. The teachers are qualified, and the school has a total of four senior teacher positions. In subject groups, led by the senior teachers, and with researchers, we systematically develop teaching.

Your Role

In your role as a teacher for the after-school center, you are part of a work team in the lower primary school where, together with mentors and other after-school staff, you collaborate throughout the students' entire school day.

As a teacher for the after-school center, you plan and conduct teaching and have a pedagogical assignment that should contribute to an stimulating and developmental stay for the students during the combined school day.

As a teacher for the after-school center, you work in a team together with teachers and childcare workers, as well as any student assistants.

As a teacher for the after-school center, part of the assignment is to collaborate during the school day.

Main Tasks

  • Planning, implementation, evaluation, and development of the pedagogical work at the after-school center based on Chapter 4 of the curriculum
  • Planning, implementation, evaluation, and development of teaching during the school day in the subject you teach and are certified in
  • Collaborate during the school day (see below)
  • Supervision and care responsibility
  • Information and documentation as well as administration
  • Contact with guardians
  • Recess responsibility and pedagogical meals
  • Participation in the school's subject group in your subject

Collaboration Assignment

  • Be close and support students during transitions between lessons, recesses, and meals, as well as the transition from school to after-school care
  • Support students during lessons at an individual and/or group level based on identified needs in dialogue with the responsible teacher
  • Be close and support students during recesses and meals
  • Conduct scheduled lessons in case of absence

Your Competence and Experience

We are looking for you who are:

A certified teacher for the after-school center or a trained teacher. You should have certification in a practical-aesthetic subject, preferably sports.

For the position, it is required that you are a clear leader who leads and organizes the work so that a safe learning environment based on mutual respect and cooperation is created. As a person, you are meticulous and structured and prioritize your work in an efficient manner. You find it easy to make decisions, even in more time-pressured situations. You have a high quality mindset and are well aware of goals and quality standards. You are clear in your way of communicating and are a relational leader.

Within the Education Administration, we apply individual salary setting regulated by HÖK and General Provisions (AB).
