Description
The Emergency Department in Skövde has undergone a major transformation as we now have a state-of-the-art facility in large, bright premises perfectly adapted for the task! Following the new construction, we can claim to be one of Sweden's largest and most modern emergency departments, with a potential flow of approximately 70,000 patients per year. A new pediatric emergency unit has been established in the new facility with its own dedicated pediatric pathway! A new radiology unit is also located adjacent to the emergency department.
The Emergency Department in Skövde is one of the region's five trauma hospitals. We handle patients in acute conditions, the majority of whom are treated and discharged directly from the emergency department, while some require further care or contact with various hospital clinics. We receive patients with care needs within medicine, surgery, orthopedics, urology, infectious diseases, pediatrics, gynecology, ENT, and ophthalmology.
We are now looking for a Medical Secretary for a permanent position with us. Does that sound interesting?
Responsibilities
As a Medical Secretary, you are the administrative hub! You will have a varied and content-rich job with us, involving both traditional dictation writing for all types of medical specialties seeking help from us, as well as other administrative tasks. We register and receive ambulances, answer calls from relatives and others calling the emergency department, register cash/process invoices, and more. We are also responsible for hospital-wide bed coordination, a task that can be both developing and challenging. This task is primarily relevant during night shifts for you as a Medical Secretary.
With increased digitalization, we have also seen opportunities for task rotation, where some of us also staff the emergency department reception and thus serve as the first point of contact for patients seeking care from us. More activities are planned for the future, making the role even broader and more interesting!
Qualifications
You are trained as a Medical Secretary. Experience in emergency care as well as experience working as a Medical Secretary is seen as positive, but it is not a requirement.
To offer good and safe care, it is important that you have good language skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and an eye for quality.
For the role, you also need to be structured and service-oriented. You have good collaboration and communication skills, can prioritize your work, and quickly switch work pace and tasks based on what is most important for the patient, here and now. It is also important that you are a team player who both helps and takes help from your colleagues in daily work.
Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
Other
Working hours during the day, evening, night, and weekends, including public holidays. Interviews will begin during the application period, so do not wait with your application. Do not hesitate to contact us with questions; we would be happy to talk to you!
