Job Description

Do you have a strong technical interest, an eye for detail, and thrive when working with a high degree of autonomy? Do you want a unique job where your workplace is on a ship out at sea? Then you might be the person we are looking for in a full-time position as a Service Technician for our client, C Survey, in Gothenburg.

This is a direct recruitment, meaning Randstad handles the recruitment process, but you will be employed directly by C Survey. If you have questions about the position, you are welcome to contact the responsible recruiter at Randstad via email: [email protected]

About C Survey:

C Survey offers the shipping industry inspections of safety equipment on board ships. With approval from major manufacturers and classification societies, they provide a unique solution that increases safety, improves the environment, and reduces costs for their customers. Here, you will become an important part of a team based in Gothenburg, ensuring the safety of ships around the world.

As a Service Technician, you will be a crucial part of the operations as you inspect, calibrate, and perform minor repairs on safety equipment on board at customer sites.

The inspections are carried out while the ships are in transit. In practice, this means you board the ship at a port, stay on board for a few days, and leave the ship at a suitable port when the work is finished. During the inspection, you will stay in your own cabin, have access to all meals, and have the opportunity to exercise on board. The work schedule follows a so-called 1/1 system, meaning one day on duty results in one day of leave.

There is no specific formal education for this position. Therefore, you will start your employment as a trainee, which means we place great emphasis on your personal suitability.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, calibrate, and perform minor repairs on safety equipment on board ships.
  • Work independently while the ship is in transit in international environments.
  • Documentation and issuance of certificates in Swedish and English after completed inspection.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who likes to find solutions when problems arise, is detail-oriented, and ensures tasks are completed on time. You follow given instructions and checklists with ease. As a person, you are self-assured, can speak your mind, and have the ability to separate facts from personal matters. This is particularly important in this role, as customers trust that C Survey independently ensures their safety needs and regulatory requirements.

  • Valid driver's license (Category B).
  • Good proficiency in both Swedish and English, spoken and written (the job involves writing certificates after completed inspections).
  • Previous seafaring experience is an advantage.
