The Workplace
Bohuslän Museum in Uddevalla is in an exciting phase of development, renewing and evolving our operations with the goal of being an open and relevant museum for our time. Sustainability is our guiding star – rooted in the local community while looking outward to the world. This position is located within the Support Services department, which is responsible for the museum's finance, HR, IT, quality assurance, administration, and procurement.
Responsibilities
We are currently seeking an HR Generalist with payroll expertise, as we see significant potential for improvement in the museum's payroll processes. You will support the Head of Support Services (who also serves as HR Manager) with operational and administrative tasks. These include systematic work environment management, payroll reviews, and holiday planning. Additionally, you will handle scheduling and provide administrative support to managers regarding recruitment and other personnel administration within the HR system.
The museum underwent a significant reorganization in 2025, and the Support Services unit is also undergoing changes. This role is crucial in ensuring that the Support Services department best supports the museum's operations and strategic goals. You will be joining the team during a dynamic period and will be drawn to an organization in transition. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fluid and changing environment with high demands for personal drive.
Qualifications
You possess strong administrative skills, are meticulous, structured, and systematic. You learn new programs and systems quickly – we currently use Flex HRM. You have a desire to improve daily routines and find more efficient ways of working. You are driven by being a support function that creates value for the organization, allowing employees to focus on core activities. The role involves frequent contact with colleagues, assisting with everything from expense reports and sick leave statistics to support during peak workloads.
We are looking for candidates with post-secondary education in HR, preferably with a focus on payroll, and at least a few years of experience in a similar role. You do not need to have expertise in all HR areas, but you must have the willingness to learn and develop according to the organization's needs.
Experience of union cooperation and/or negotiations is desirable. We have a collective agreement through Sobona and a local cooperation agreement. Experience working in tax-funded operations is also considered an advantage.
To succeed in this role, you must be flexible, able to prioritize tasks based on importance and deadlines, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively to build structures and develop working methods. The museum is a relatively small organization where everyone pitches in with various tasks. Therefore, we are primarily looking for someone with the right attitude, problem-solving skills, and a drive to deliver results. We are a friendly team that values collaboration and enjoyment at work.
