Göteborgs Stads Leasing AB (GSL) is looking for a Leasing Strategist with a focus on business development for our Operational Leasing business area. We are looking for you who have deep expertise and specialist competence within leasing and who want to translate your experience into strategic development and business development.

Here, you will have a key role in the development of leasing solutions for the City of Gothenburg, working at the intersection of finance, analysis, business development, and sustainability. You will contribute to developing strategies, working methods, and decision support materials that create long-term value for the city's operations. The position is located within the Fleet Management unit.

As a Leasing Strategist, you are responsible for analyzing and developing our leasing business from a strategic, financial, and commercial perspective linked to the specific needs of the City of Gothenburg. The role combines deep expertise in leasing with a clear business development mandate to develop cost-effective, sustainable, and competitive leasing solutions, while continuously developing internal processes, business models, and working methods.

You work with follow-up, analysis, and financial decision support while driving development initiatives and improvement projects. The role involves close collaboration with internal functions and external suppliers. You act as a specialist and advisor within leasing and financing of vehicles, micromobility, machinery, and related issues, contributing to the development of operations in line with changing needs and market conditions.

Responsibilities

In the role, you will among other things:

• Be the business unit's specialist in operational leasing and provide qualified support in matters concerning leasing structures, contract terms, residual values, calculations, risk assessments, and lifecycle costs.
• Be responsible for designing, analyzing, and quality-assuring leasing structures for vehicles, bicycles, and construction machinery, ensuring that leasing offers comply with current regulations.
• Analyze market trends, customer needs, and changing requirements within sustainable mobility and usage.
• Monitor and develop leasing solutions and ensure contracts are commercially viable, cost-effective, and adapted to the City of Gothenburg's needs.
• Develop and implement strategies for leasing solutions for vehicles, construction machinery, and micromobility.
• Produce financial analyses, calculations, forecasts, and budget support to aid operational management and decision-making.
• Follow up on the leasing portfolio and analyze financial outcomes, risks, and commercial opportunities.
• Conduct investigations and produce decision support materials within leasing, financing, and the vehicle sector.
• Identify and drive development projects that strengthen the unit's efficiency and quality in the area.
• Contribute to the development of circular business models and sustainable financing solutions.
• Develop routines, processes, and key performance indicators for monitoring and control.
• Follow developments in the leasing, vehicle, and financial markets and translate new opportunities into operations.
• Educate and spread knowledge within leasing and sustainable financing solutions.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a strategic approach, a strong business sense, and good analytical skills. You thrive working with data-driven methods and are motivated by turning analyses into concrete improvements. You easily build trusting relationships and communicate complex issues clearly and pedagogically.

We see that you have:

• An academic degree in economics, finance, business administration, or another relevant field.
• Several years of experience in leasing, financing, or controlling.
• Experience in financial follow-up, budgeting, calculations, and forecasts.
• Experience in analysis and investigation work, as well as producing decision support materials.
• Good knowledge of contractual matters and commercial assessments.
• Good understanding of at least one of the areas: vehicles, machinery, micromobility, and their economic prerequisites.
• Experience in business development, process development, or project management.
• Very strong ability to analyze data and translate results into operational benefits.
• Very good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.

It is meritorious if you have experience from public sector or municipal operations, as well as knowledge of operational leasing, sustainability work, circular economy, and work with vehicles, construction machinery, or micromobility.

Göteborgs Stads Leasing AB conducts socially important operations. As a permanent employee, you will therefore be conscripted (krigsplacerad) within the framework of the company's role in the civil defense.
