Interested in working as a Vocational Teacher for our chef training program? There is now an exciting opportunity at Lärcenter in Falköping!

What can we offer you?

In your role as a vocational teacher for the chef training program, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on teaching in various subjects. Your work will take place in close collaboration with colleagues at Lärcenter, and you will be part of a larger unit comprising vocational teachers and Swedish for Immigrants (SFI/SVA) teachers.

Our current programs include a combination program, where students study the Swedish language and a profession simultaneously, as well as an apprenticeship program. In the combination program, you work as a vocational teacher in close collaboration with SVA teachers. In the apprenticeship program, at least 70% of the teaching time is located at a workplace. The remaining teaching time consists of on-site meetings and lessons at Lärcenter in Falköping. The practical teaching components are conducted in our restaurant kitchen, located in the premises of Ålleberg Gymnasium.

What are we looking for in you?

We are looking for you who have a vocational teacher degree with a teaching license in restaurant and food services, or alternatively, are a trained chef with professional experience within the field.

It is an advantage if you have previously taught students with Swedish as a second language and/or taught restaurant and food service courses. Experience in adult education and multicultural work is a plus. Experience with different teaching methods, such as apprenticeship programs, is also considered an advantage.

You have good organizational and collaborative skills, are creative, flexible, and eager to actively contribute to the development of the operations. You communicate well both verbally and in writing, are engaged, and interested in meeting people with varying backgrounds and experiences.

You feel confident using digital tools as a natural part of teaching and documentation. We prefer that you have a B-class driver's license to conduct visits related to Apprenticeship/APL (Assessed Practical Learning).
