Description

At Hvitfeldtska Gymnasium, the future has been shaped since 1647. Do you want to be part of it? Hvitfeldtska Gymnasium is a prestigious school and a dynamic workplace with approximately 2,000 students and 220 employees. The school is centrally located in Gothenburg and offers an inspiring environment where historical traditions meet a modern and international educational context. We take great pride in running a knowledge-oriented operation with a high academic profile and a clear international character.

As an employee, you will become part of a professional community. We collaborate closely with both the business community and universities. The school is also distinguished by strong student engagement through Gothenburg's largest student union. We value a good working environment and have a long tradition of joint gatherings that strengthen the staff throughout the school year.

We are looking for you who want to work in an environment with high expectations and contribute to our continued development. Please visit our website www.hvitfeldtska.se (http://www.hvitfeldtska.se) for more information about us.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a new teaching colleague for a full-time temporary position teaching Swedish and History, as well as supervising senior projects (gymnasiearbete). Your organizational affiliation will be with the Arts Programme with a focus on Music, where you will have your principal and program colleagues.

The position includes teaching on national programs and supervising students in their senior projects, which requires a structured and supportive approach. You follow, support, and guide students in their academic and personal development. You work continuously with follow-up, feedback, and assessment to promote each student's learning. You actively participate in subject groups, work teams, and the school's joint development work.

Qualifications

To succeed and thrive in the role, you need to be confident in your leadership in the classroom and meet students with high and positive expectations. You have a teaching license with eligibility to teach Swedish and History at the upper secondary level, and you have experience teaching at this level. It is an advantage if you have previously supervised senior projects and have an understanding of the character of the Arts Programme.

Since we work in a modern educational environment, you have good digital skills and are familiar with using various digital tools and learning aids as a natural part of your pedagogy. You have a very good ability to adapt your teaching and meet different groups and abilities, allowing you to differentiate instruction so that all students are challenged and supported at the right level. Furthermore, you have a developed ability to collaborate, enjoy working in teams in a creative environment, and are skilled at building good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians.

Important information during the summer period:

The responsible recruiter is on leave during weeks 27–31 and will not be able to answer questions about the position during this time. Interviews are planned to be held during weeks 32 and 33.

We look forward to receiving your application!

Other Information

For your interview, you need to bring a passport/national ID and, if applicable, proof of residence permit if you have citizenship outside the EU/EEA. This is so that, as an employer, we can verify your identity and ensure that you have the right to work in Sweden.

In reference to the laws regulating background checks, anyone offered this position must present a certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) before an employment contract can be drawn up.

For positions where education requirements exist, you will be asked to provide documentation proving your education, such as a license or degree certificate, as you progress in the recruitment process. You can also attach them directly to your application.

We decline all offers of advertising and recruitment assistance in connection with this advertisement.
