Your responsibilities
We are looking for a case handler who will primarily work with establishing decided recoveries. This means that in the role of case handler, you will be responsible for following up cases with decided recoveries of financial assistance and advancing them to the Administrative Court for the establishment of repayment. The tasks include investigating payment capacity and preparing materials to initiate proceedings before the Administrative Court. You will also have a task to spread information and support the administration in the work of recovering compensation from other authorities. The work involves both independent tasks and collaboration with internal and external actors, for example with social secretaries and other authorities such as the Swedish Social Insurance Agency.
The role of case handler within recoveries requires that you are self-reliant and have the ability to plan and structure your work yourself. You are responsible for setting up your working day and are given the opportunity to influence the planning based on the needs of the operations.
Your workplace
The task of the Integration and Labour Market Administration is to strengthen the opportunities for residents of Linköping who are in need of financial assistance to become self-sufficient and independent, as well as to contribute to competence supply for the business community and Linköping Municipality. In the administration, we work closely together with citizens, business life, the voluntary sector, authorities, and other public actors.
The position is located within the staff function Operations Support. The work group currently consists of four development leaders who, through preventive work, contribute to strengthening the exercise of authority and reducing incorrect payments, as well as a case handler who investigates recoveries. Your workplace will be in fresh premises at Drottninggatan 45 in central Linköping. Working hours are 07:45–17:00, with shorter working days during the summer months. We apply flexible working hours agreements and the possibility of remote work.
You who apply
We are looking for you who have a social science or economic university or college education, or equivalent education that the employer considers equivalent. Since the work as a recovery case handler involves social contacts, collaboration with various authorities, as well as investigation and documentation work, requirements are placed on your ability to express yourself well in both speech and writing in Swedish. We therefore also require that you have documentation experience and consider it meritorious if you have experience in writing statements. We consider it highly meritorious if you have experience in exercising authority. Previous experience of meeting people in different vulnerable situations in a professional and respectful manner, as well as experience of working with financial assistance, is considered meritorious.
To succeed in the role, we see that you are self-reliant and have the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively. You set and keep timeframes, weigh together complex information and different considerations, and show judgment in statements, actions, and decisions. Furthermore, you have a good understanding of people's different conditions and adapt the way you convey your message to the recipient. You also cooperate well with other people and have the ability to listen, communicate, and solve conflicts in a constructive way.
In this recruitment, we may use tests as part of our assessment; the tests give us information about personality and problem-solving ability. We plan to conduct interviews during week 28.
