The Competence and Development department is responsible for Adult Education, the Employment Unit, and the Unit for Newly Arrived. Adult education offers courses from basic levels up to university level. The unit covers basic and upper secondary adult education, Swedish for Immigrants (SFI), vocational training, and university college vocational programs.

At our organization, you will provide study and career guidance for adult residents of Stenungsund and Tjörn.
As a study and career counselor at the adult education center in Stenungsund, you will be part of a student support team. The role includes individual guidance, outreach activities, group guidance, group information sessions, and the creation of individual study plans for enrolled students, collaboration with educators, and networking with other study and career counselors.
Your responsibilities also include providing support before and during studies for students who require adaptations.
Administrative tasks such as handling admissions, grade management, and processing student cases are included in the role. Evening work may occur.
As a study and career counselor, you will also work closely with the Employment Unit (AME), where you serve as a crucial link between education, the labor market, and the individual's path to self-sufficiency.
The role involves supporting participants in labor market initiatives by mapping competencies, experiences, and future goals, as well as advising on educational and career choices based on the individual's prerequisites and the labor market's needs. You will contribute knowledge about educational pathways, competency requirements, and opportunities for career changes for individuals outside the labor market or those needing support to take the next step toward work or studies.
An important part of the job is planning and conducting group activities focused on education, the labor market, and future career paths. Through information and guidance, you inspire participants to explore educational opportunities and create realistic plans for their future.
You collaborate closely with labor market consultants, employers, and other internal and external actors to create sustainable paths to work, studies, and self-sufficiency.
You must be a qualified Study and Career Counselor. The work requires that you have a good ability to independently and as part of a team prioritize, plan, and carry out tasks. Furthermore, you need to have good and professional communication skills and high digital competence.
You have a drive and willingness to develop operations and new education programs that meet the needs of the labor market through collaboration.
You have the ability to build good relationships, are flexible, and confident in various forms of conversations, guidance activities, and meetings. We also look for a norm-critical, non-hierarchical, and solution-focused approach. You have good knowledge of the education system, its current regulatory documents, and legislation. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
