Friskolan Metis in Skara is looking for an engaged and inspiring music teacher who wants to help develop teaching in a school where innovation, commitment, and a focus on students are at the center.

About the role

As a music teacher, you will primarily teach students in years 4–9, with the possibility of also teaching in preschool class to year 3 depending on your qualifications and the structure of the position.

Music plays an important role at Metis, and we are looking for you who want to contribute to awakening students' curiosity, creativity, and desire to express themselves through music.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Inspire and challenge students through creative, varied, and engaging music education.
• Give students the opportunity to develop their musical skills through singing, instrumental playing, creation, and making music together with others.
• Plan and perform presentations and musical elements at events such as graduations, Lucia celebrations, and other joint activities.
• Collaborate with dedicated colleagues to develop the school's pedagogical activities.
• Contribute to a safe and stimulating school environment where students have the opportunity to develop both academically and socially.
• Be a clear leader and a responsive educator who sees every student and their individual needs.

You work closely with your work team to plan, implement, evaluate, and develop teaching in accordance with regulatory documents and the school's vision. The role requires creativity, flexibility, and a genuine interest in creating teaching where all students have the opportunity to succeed and experience the joy of music.

Employment conditions

Scope: Part-time 75% (with possibility of extended position depending on competence and organization)

Start date: August 3, 2026
