Östby School is a multicultural school with just over 180 students. Some of the students attend Östby School's preparatory class for newly arrived students. Currently, there are students with approximately 25 different mother tongues at the school.

Östby School is a school with strong positive development! The work on core values, the engagement and influence of the educators and students are the foundation for a good study environment characterized by security, study peace, and playfulness. About the job

One of our skilled colleagues is moving on to a new assignment, so we are now looking for a teacher.

Your main task is to challenge students in their learning and support the student's knowledge development towards set goals, together with colleagues. In addition to planning, conducting, and evaluating teaching, you will work with colleagues in work teams to develop the school based on our prioritized development areas.

Who are you

You are a certified teacher with the qualification to teach in grades 4-6, in Swedish, Social Studies (So), and Swedish as a Second Language (SVA). Your ability to create good, trust-based relationships with students is a prerequisite.

We are looking for you who are well acquainted with the subjects' purposes, abilities, and assessment criteria, and are well versed in the school's view of knowledge and mission regarding core values. You have good knowledge and competence in digital and formative learning processes.

You have the ability to motivate and create situations that contribute to meaningful learning and accessible learning environments characterized by inclusion, variation, and participation. You have the ability to see and meet each student individually, base your work on what works, and have broad leadership and stimulation in teaching.

You see opportunities in close collaboration with others. Your learning in collegial learning is a matter of course. You reflect on and analyze your own teaching as a natural part of your practice.

You have a very good ability to create good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You are communicative and creative. We would like you to be able, willing, and brave to think and try new things together with others.

Conditions

Permanent position, 100%, starting August 11, 2026.

We apply individual and differentiated salary setting. For the position, the monthly salary is between 38,000 and 43,000 SEK, depending on experience, education, and competence.

Probationary period may apply.

Extract from the Police Register

Before being offered employment, you as a candidate are obliged to show an extract from the police register when working in any of the following areas; school or preschool, work with children in other operations than school and childcare, work with children according to LSS, work at or in connection with HVB homes (residential homes for youth), work with the elderly or persons with disabilities. You order the extract via the Police website. The extract must be presented before employment can begin.
