Mother Tongue Teacher in Finnish to the Multilingual Unit

Do you want to work in an organization where language, identity, and learning are at the center? The Multilingual Unit is now looking for dedicated mother tongue teachers in Finnish who wish to contribute to strengthening students' knowledge development and multilingual competence.

The Multilingual Unit consists of 36 employees and offers mother tongue instruction in 23 different languages. Here, you become part of a collegial environment where we develop teaching together and support each other in the mission to provide students with equal conditions to reach their goals.

Our operations are characterized by an inclusive approach where multilingualism is seen as an asset and an important part of students' identity and knowledge development. We strive for a good work climate that stimulates students' motivation, sense of responsibility, and desire to learn.

Within the Multilingual Unit, we work to systematically develop the quality of teaching. Our focus lies on planning, implementation, follow-up, and analysis of teaching based on scientific grounds and proven experience. Collaboration and exchange of experience among colleagues are a central part of our work.

Responsibilities

In your role as a mother tongue teacher:

• You plan and conduct mother tongue instruction based on regulatory documents
• You strengthen students' language, identity, and knowledge development
• You collaborate with colleagues and school staff
• You contribute to the development of teaching and operations within the Multilingual Unit

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

• have pedagogical education or teaching experience
• have very good knowledge of the relevant mother tongue and Swedish
• are engaged, flexible, and have an inclusive approach
• see multilingualism as a resource and a strength
