Teacher Wanted at Ramneröd

Ramneröd School (Years 7–9) is a centrally located secondary school in Uddevalla with a multicultural student body. The school has been completely renovated and rebuilt, undergoing a significant transformation in many ways. We are currently in an exciting process involving both renovations and a clearer student-centered approach that shapes our work. At Ramneröd School, we welcome students from across the city. This creates a school that reflects society and gives children and young people the opportunity to meet and learn from each other.

About Us

We are organized into tight year-group teams focused on the students, with a two-teacher system in core subjects and frequent knowledge follow-ups supported by a flexible support system based on student needs. Each team is supported by a special needs teacher who ensures focus remains on accessible learning environments and appropriate support for every student. To create a safe environment at the school, we work with IBIS (Inclusive Behavioral Support in Schools). We believe we need to work together around and with the students, and that clarity and relationships help students grow and take responsibility. Through positive reinforcement, we help students take greater responsibility and become their best selves.

We also believe that students learn best when the subject matter feels relevant and authentic, and that experiences and connections to society outside of school help students feel meaning and motivation. Therefore, we are focusing on experiential/authentic learning as a development area.

Working on language and knowledge development is a given for us, as we see that it benefits all students.

Responsibilities

The school has a high level of teacher qualification and a strong sense of collaboration to achieve student goals. The student is at the center of everything we do, driven by a strong belief that our students can succeed if given the right opportunities, and that we work together to create the best possible conditions for them to thrive.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for someone who wants to be part of our work to further increase student achievement and a brand-new Ramneröd School, where all students receive the support they need and, in a safe environment, develop into their best selves. It is natural for us that you have a relational approach and believe that all students want and can succeed.

Due to a teacher seeking new challenges, we are now looking for a Science (NO) teacher for Year 9 team. The position is primarily in Science, but possibly also in Mathematics depending on your qualifications.

Homeroom teacher duties (mentorship) in Year 7 are included in the position.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with experience teaching at the secondary level.

Merits include experience teaching in multilingual student groups and knowledge of low-affective interaction and/or positive behavioral support. Your ability to build strong relationships and to be a clear leader in the classroom is seen as crucial. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
