Like all folk high schools in Sweden, Gotland Folk High School has a mission to conduct activities aimed at achieving the state's established goals for popular adult education.

The folk high school is represented in Hemse and Fårösund. The school works to develop people's skills and knowledge, where education is an important part of the mission.

Gotland Folk High School in Fårösund offers courses in Film Crew, The Writing Line, Story, and the Social Pedagogy Program. The school has its own restaurant and boarding accommodation.

We are now looking for you who want to become a teacher for Film Crew at Gotland Folk High School, Fårösund unit. The position is a permanent full-time (100%) employment.

Your Responsibilities

As a teacher for Film Crew, you teach participants with a focus on vocational preparation for film and TV production. Throughout the year, you guide groups through practical exercises, practice productions, and joint projects – from idea and planning to filming and post-production.

The education takes place at Kustateljéns film studio in Fårösund, featuring 1,000 m² of studio space adapted for professional film productions. The work takes place close to colleagues in production; you function as a supervisor and technical resource in the participants' projects.

As a teacher for Film Crew, you also work closely with the school's scriptwriting course, Story. Being a teacher at Gotland Folk High School also means you are part of the school's entire operation and are expected to contribute to the whole, such as through joint activities and quality development.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have documented professional experience in film and TV production and strong technical competence in either camera, sound, or lighting. You have previously worked in commercial productions and understand the specific requirements placed on quality, delivery, and target audience adaptation. Additionally, you have good industry knowledge and a broad network that you can utilize to create successful collaborations and drive projects forward.

We would appreciate it if you had pedagogical training and experience with the folk high school's specific form of education. You have previously worked with participants, young people, or adult students in groups and know how to create an stimulating and inclusive learning environment. Additionally, you have experience in scriptwriting and are familiar with dramaturgical processes, which enables you to contribute to both the creative and pedagogical development of our programs.

We are looking for someone who is confident in their professional role, has good cooperation skills, and enjoys supervising creative processes from planning to finished production. You inspire, support, and challenge our students in their development towards professional life.
