With us, you get more than a job - you make a real difference. At Pluggparadisets School, we work together for high quality and the development of every student. Does that sound interesting? Apply today!

Pluggparadisets School in Storvreta is a school with high ambitions for both academic development and safety. The school is a two-stream F-6 school with approximately 380 students and 45 employees. Here, you will encounter a operation where teaching quality is at the center, and where we work systematically to create study peace, order, and good relationships.

You will become part of an engaged collegium where collaboration is a natural part of the mission. We work in forums and see collaboration between professions as crucial for students' development. Our culture is characterized by the attitude that the team comes before the individual, and that we together take responsibility for the operation's entirety, goals, and continued development. "Together" is an important keyword in our daily lives - you contribute actively in your forum and are ready to support where the operation's needs arise. We work from the conviction that all students belong to everyone, which means that we jointly take responsibility for each student's entire school day and schooling. In teaching, we focus on clear and broad leadership in the classroom, where structure, expectations, and high-quality teaching create safe and predictable learning environments. Knowledge of neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPD) is a natural part of our work to meet the needs of all students.

Please read more about our operation on our website.

Description of duties

As an after-school care assistant, you are an important part of supporting students' social and academic development throughout their day - both at school and in the after-school care. You contribute to creating a safe, stimulating, and educational environment where every student is given the opportunity to grow, develop, and feel curiosity about their learning.

You are part of a grade team (ÅKT) together with teachers and other after-school care assistants, where collaboration regarding students' development and student care is the focus. Together, you also create a red thread between the school day and the after-school care operation, with the student's best interest at the center. Through a common approach, clear structure, continuity, and presence at the workplace, you contribute to predictability, which strengthens students' safety and development. In your role as an after-school care assistant, you help shape an operation where teaching, care, and learning are interconnected. You plan, implement, and adapt activities that offer a meaningful and varied leisure time, both indoors and outdoors. The work naturally proceeds from current governing documents, and you actively contribute to developing a qualitative and stimulating operation together with your colleagues in the after-school forum.

In meetings with students, you are a present and engaged adult who sees every child's needs and potential. You strengthen students' social and personal development by listening, supporting, and encouraging. You also collaborate with guardians and represent the operation in a professional and trustworthy manner, keeping in mind that the after-school care is also the operation's showcase to the local area.

The position includes, among other things:

  • working at the after-school care in the afternoons and as a resource in class during the school day
  • being a recess supervisor and leading recess activities during school days to inspire active recesses
  • contributing to safety, structure, and good relationships among students
  • supporting students and colleagues in daily operations.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a student assistant education or a childcare worker education. You need to have very good oral and written skills in Swedish. To succeed in the work, you need experience working with students with NPD and experience working in after-school care.

We would like you to have experience working as a resource or student assistant in lower and middle school. Experience in actively driving the after-school care's development and quality work forward is seen as meritorious.

You take initiative and start activities that engage students in the after-school care operation. You are stable and maintain calm even in situations that require patience and flexibility, and you create a safe environment for students. You have a good ability to build relationships and meet both students, colleagues, and guardians in an open and trustworthy manner. With your pedagogical insight, you adapt activities and your approach based on students' needs and conditions. At the same time, you are clear in your communication and contribute to structure, safety, and clear frameworks in the operation.
