Description of duties

With us, the role of the special needs teacher is central. You work both strategically and close to the students, focusing on creating the best possible conditions for learning. Working with students in need of extensive support is a challenge – but also one of the school's most important and meaningful tasks. With us, you do not do this alone.

You will work in close collaboration with:

  • subject teachers
  • student health personnel
  • school leadership

We know that relationship-building, clarity, and structure make a difference – and that an engaged special needs teacher plays a crucial role in students' achievement of goals.

Your responsibilities will include, among other things:

  • working directly with students in need of special support, both in the classroom and in smaller settings depending on needs
  • investigating, analyzing, and documenting students' needs
  • guiding and supporting teachers in creating inclusive and accessible learning environments
  • being a driving force in developing the school's methods regarding support measures
  • contributing to school development at the individual, group, and organizational levels

You are an active part of the student health team as well as the school's special needs teacher team, where you together create shared understanding and development.

At the school, we constantly work to find ways for every student to succeed in their schoolwork. In this work, you as a special needs teacher become an important part.

We are looking for someone who:

  • enjoys collaborating with and mentoring colleagues
  • wants to contribute to the development of teaching and organization
  • has a strong commitment to students in need of support

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a special needs teaching degree with a focus on language, reading, and writing development. You should have good knowledge of extra adaptations and special support.

You are proactive and take active initiative for pedagogical interventions that strengthen students' language, reading, and writing development. You are flexible and adapt your working methods based on students' different needs, changed conditions, and the school's mission. You have good collaborative skills and work closely with teachers, student health services, and guardians to create the best possible support for students. Through your relationship-building approach, you build trusting relationships with both students and colleagues, which contributes to a safe and developmental learning environment.
