About the School

Högåsskolan is a grades F-6 school with approximately 480 students and 70 employees in the nature-rich Knivsta, right next to the Gredelby Hagars Nature Reserve. Our proximity to nature, combined with our central location and short distance to commuter trains for quick access to Uppsala or Stockholm, provides fantastic opportunities for various types of variation in teaching, which we see as an important part of student learning.

About the Position

We are now looking for a new special education teacher for our fantastic special education team. Here, 2 special education teachers and 2 special educators are waiting to get to know their new colleague. Are you the one we are looking for? At our school, we distinguish between the roles of special education teacher and special educator.

Our special educators work on designing and evaluating action plans for our students as well as mentoring staff, while our special education teachers work on providing special instruction to our students.

Responsibilities

As a special education teacher for grades 3-4, you are responsible for, in close collaboration with the special educator and the student's teaching teacher, and based on the students' action plans, working with relevant measures in special instruction.

You are part of our special education team, which consists of two special educators and three special education teachers, where you together work to conduct and develop our special educational activities. You have close collaboration with the various class teachers and other staff at the school. As part of these tasks, it is important that you are skilled at communicating, both internally at the school but also with guardians and students.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are trained as a special education teacher with a focus on Swedish. It is meritorious if you have a few years of experience as a special education teacher.

You are structured and solution-oriented, work according to a clear process, plan your work well, and complete what has been started, as well as finding solutions to emerging problems. You are good at building and maintaining relationships with students, colleagues, as well as guardians.

Employment Conditions

• Salary: Monthly salary.
• Employment type: Permanent position.
• Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-08-11 or by agreement.
