Description of Duties

At Palmbladsskolan, you will have the opportunity to work both closely with students and with school development. In this role, you are a Special Education Teacher in Mathematics. As a Special Education Teacher in Mathematics, you work to create accessible, equitable, and inclusive teaching. You play a central role in identifying and removing barriers to student learning and actively contribute to the school's development work.

You work on:

  • Individual level – support measures, adaptations, and design of special support
  • Group level – development of teaching and working methods
  • Organizational level – analysis and school development

You collaborate closely with teachers, the student health team, and school management, contributing to systematic quality work, including the analysis of results and the development of teaching.

For those who wish to take greater responsibility, there is an opportunity for a lead teacher assignment. This means you will be part of the school's development group, drive development initiatives together with school management and colleagues, and specifically contribute to developing the quality of teaching.

You are part of the school's special educational needs team together with two special education teachers and one special needs educator.

Together, you are responsible for:

  • analyzing students' needs
  • mentoring teachers and staff
  • designing and developing the school's support measures

Qualifications

We are looking for you who meet several important requirements for the position. You have a Swedish teaching license and a degree as a Special Education Teacher, along with experience teaching mathematics at the primary school level. Furthermore, you have good oral and written skills in Swedish and a good knowledge of the Swedish National Agency for Education's regulatory documents and curriculum. You also have knowledge of how to create good learning environments and work from a special educational perspective.

In addition to these requirements, we consider it meritorious if you have a good ability to analyze students' needs and develop teaching based on these. Experience working as a lead teacher is also an advantage, as is experience working with students in need of special support, such as students with psychosocial needs or neuropsychological functional variations.

As a person, you are flexible and adapt easily to changed conditions, seeing opportunities in change. You have good collaboration skills and work well with others by being receptive, communicative, and solution-oriented. You are relationship-building and establish and maintain trusting contacts in your work. You work systematically by planning, organizing, and prioritizing your tasks efficiently. You show leadership by motivating and engaging others towards common goals. At the same time, you are development-oriented and open to new ideas, methods, and ways of working that contribute to improvement and development.
