Almtuna School is a municipal primary school in Uppsala offering education from preschool class to grade 6. The school has approximately 580 students and around 60 employees, and is guided by the vision: "Through safety, joy, and participation, we reach our goals." At Almtuna School, we work systematically with quality, collegial learning, and an inclusive approach to ensure all students have good conditions for success.
The school is led by the principal and deputy principal and has well-functioning structures for collaboration, student health services, and pedagogical development. We actively work on safety and study environment, among other things through IBIS (Inclusive Behavioral Support in Schools). Almtuna School is currently temporarily housed in the newly built premises of Branting School, where operations are conducted while the school's permanent premises are being renovated and expanded.

Description of duties
We offer a varied position where you will have the opportunity to follow students' development at different ages and contexts – from class teaching in grade 1 to subject teaching in English and Spanish. The position includes class teaching and instruction in grade 1 two days per week, as well as teaching English in grade 4 and Spanish in grade 6. Participation in swimming instruction is included one day per week. Teaching and pedagogical work in the school's after-school care may also be included in the position. The work involves further collaboration with colleagues, guardians, and the student health team to create good conditions for students' learning and development.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a certified teacher or have other education/experience that the employer deems relevant. You have good knowledge of the primary school curriculum and have experience working in municipal school operations. We also see that you have experience teaching Spanish in primary school as well as experience with swimming instruction.
We see that you have the ability to:
- Plan, implement, and follow up on teaching.
- Assess and document students' knowledge development.
- Create a safe, structured, and creative teaching environment.
- Lead student groups and create engagement and work peace.
- Adapt teaching to students' different conditions and needs.
Furthermore, it is important that you have a good ability to work in teams. It is also important to have a professional and respectful attitude towards students, colleagues, and guardians. Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing is a prerequisite for the position.
In times of change, you adapt easily to altered circumstances. You can quickly change your perspective and approach. You collaborate well with others and relate to your surroundings in a listening and flexible manner. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively. As a person, you are outgoing and socially active in professional contexts. You easily establish contact and maintain relationships.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.
In your application, you must state your citizenship. Employment can only take place after verification of the work permit, as required by the Aliens Ordinance.
Employment with Uppsala Municipality may involve being placed on the war establishment.
Salary type: Monthly salary.
Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 3-6 months, Start date: Start from 2026-08-10 to 2026-12-22.
