Bälinge School is a K-5 school with approximately 370 students and 45 staff members. The school is centrally located in Bälinge, close to buses and the community.

Jumkils School is a newly built K-5 school with approximately 104 students distributed across 6 classes. The school has an attractive school environment, both in the school premises and on the playground and surrounding natural areas. The school also has an after-school center for grades K-5.

We work extensively on preventive measures at both schools. Bälinge is an IBIS school, while Jumkils School focuses heavily on its core values. Both schools have well-being coordinators who initiate games with other students during recess. The well-being program promotes play and movement during recess through structured games led by students with adult supervision. Bälinge and Jumkils Schools also work with cooperative learning, a pedagogical method we use in the classrooms. Jumkils and Bälinge Schools share a common school leadership and student health team. There is a well-developed collaboration between the schools.

Description of Duties

You will work as a craft teacher specializing in wood and metalwork. Your assignment will include teaching wood and metalwork in grades 3-5. Teaching in additional subjects may be added depending on your qualifications. You are responsible for planning, following up, and evaluating your teaching together with students and colleagues. You will be involved in developing the school's operations in collaboration with other staff.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a teaching license with eligibility to teach crafts in grades 3-6. Eligibility to teach additional subjects is considered an advantage.

With your pedagogical insight, you adapt the teaching to the students' different prerequisites and learning styles. You explain concepts in a concrete and inspiring way and help students develop both their practical skills and their understanding of the craft subject. You build good relationships with students and create a safe and inclusive classroom where everyone feels seen. Furthermore, you communicate clearly and structured, so that students understand instructions, goals, and expectations in the teaching. You ensure that your message gets through and follow up so that each student receives the right support in their learning.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.
