Do you want to make a difference in a small school where the sense of community is strong? Here, you will become an important part of a close-knit collaboration where the after-school center plays a central role in the students' entire day. We welcome your application!

Danmarks School is a primary school (grades F-5) with approximately 140 students, located just outside Uppsala. By bus, it takes only about 10 minutes from the central station to the school.

At Danmarks School, we actively work for an inclusive learning environment where all students are given the opportunity to succeed and develop. This permeates both our physical learning environments and the pedagogy we use in our operations.

The workplace is characterized by a strong sense of community and a collegial team where we support each other and work together for the benefit of the students. The after-school center is an important part of the school's operations, and we work with "FriSsko" (after-school in school) as a natural part of the students' school day.

The after-school center is staffed by well-educated and dedicated personnel who both drive the development of the after-school activities at Danmarks School and participate in development work within the municipality. Here, you have the opportunity to be part of an operation where collaboration, development, and student focus are at the center.

The position is advertised as a temporary vacancy during the school year 2026-2027 at 70% full-time. Working hours are scheduled during the day according to the timetable within the after-school center and school operations.

You can read more about Danmarks School here.

Description of duties

As an after-school teacher, you will be involved in the development work at the after-school center. This includes conducting pedagogical activities both indoors and outdoors. You are expected to contribute your pedagogical knowledge based on the compensatory mission of the after-school center, participate in pedagogical development, and ensure meaningful content at the after-school center in collaboration with the after-school staff at the school.

You will also work as a resource in a class for parts of the day and accompany them to physical education and crafts at our neighboring school.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a Swedish teaching license with eligibility for the after-school center. To succeed in the work, you need to have good knowledge of the school's and after-school center's governing documents as well as the primary school curriculum. The work requires that you have good oral and written skills in Swedish.

We would like you to have eligibility to teach in one or more of the school's subjects. Experience of working in an after-school center and working with students with neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPD) is considered an advantage.

You have good pedagogical insight and adapt your working methods to the different needs of the students. Furthermore, you are relationship-building and establish secure contacts with students, guardians, and colleagues. In addition, you collaborate well with others and are flexible in a changing operation.
