Ellen Fries Gymnasium is a municipal upper secondary school with just over 600 students. The school offers many different educational pathways, including school-based education and apprenticeship training. Within the framework of the introduction program, there are several different variants. The school has many sports students who are either studying NIU (National Individual Sports for Youth) or LIU (Local Individual Sports for Youth). We are now expanding with yet another class in our popular, school-based Sales and Service program.

Description of duties

The role involves teaching students in commercial subjects included in the program and planning and following up on teaching together with colleagues. You work cross-subject to benefit student learning. You will have contact with workplaces and the industry through work-based learning. The role also includes being a mentor in year 1 together with a colleague, supporting students in their development in collaboration with guardians, and developing the education and systematic quality work together with your colleagues.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed vocational teacher, with the eligibility to teach in the subjects of purchasing, trade and sustainable development, as well as several other commercial subjects. You need to have a category B driver's license and be able to drive the school's cars to and from APL (Work-Based Learning) visits. It is meritorious if you have a broad network within the trade industry in the local area to create and maintain APL placements. Previous experience working with young people is also meritorious.

As a person, you are outgoing and socially active in professional contexts. You are good at making contacts and maintaining your relationships. You collaborate well with others and relate to your surroundings in a listening and smooth manner. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts in a constructive way. With good pedagogical insight, you understand that students have different prerequisites for absorbing knowledge. In your teaching, you strive to adapt to the recipient.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.
