As a student assistant in our adapted primary school, you will become an important part of a dedicated team where you together create a safe and meaningful everyday life for students with support needs. Berga Adapted Primary School is part of Bergaskolan, which also includes a regular primary school. We currently have approximately 65 students divided into 9 classes. The school day runs from 08:20 to 14:00, and the remaining time is dedicated to after-school care (fritids). Working hours may vary between 06:30 and 17:30 (18:00) depending on when students arrive in the morning and when they are picked up in the afternoon.

Description of Duties

You will work with students both during school hours and during after-school care hours. The role involves supporting students throughout the day, from learning activities to meal times and breaks. During school hours, you will be part of a class team working together around a specific class. During after-school hours, you will be part of a team working together on a specific unit with the students there.

The majority of the role involves supporting students' learning, both during school hours and after-school hours. However, since this is an adapted primary school, it is also important to be able to support students with various care-related matters.

Qualifications

For this position, you need previous experience working with younger children/students. It is an advantage if you have a pedagogical education focused on younger children/students. Experience working with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) and experience meeting the diverse needs of students is desirable. Experience working with students with intellectual disabilities is also considered an advantage.

You collaborate well with others and relate to your surroundings in a attentive and flexible manner. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively. In your work, you see the big picture and consider the broader perspective. You understand your role but always prioritize the best interests of the entire operation in your actions and decisions.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.

In your application, you must state your citizenship. Employment can only take place after verification of the work permit, as required by the Aliens Ordinance.
