Tallskolan in Uppsala is looking for an engaged and certified special needs teacher who is passionate about supporting students' learning and development. You have experience in student health services and thrive in collaborative teams to create an inclusive learning environment. In your role, you work with assessments, action plans, and compensatory tools to meet each student's needs. Tallskolan's resource unit has places for students in grades 4 to 9. We work on behalf of the student's home school and according to the compulsory school curriculum and subject plans. The school accommodates students who need to attend a small teaching group outside their home school. We also have students who urgently need to be in a different location than their home school for a short period.

The goal is for the student to feel part of a context and for daily life at school to function smoothly. The goal is also for the student to be able to return to their home school.

Description of Duties

The work includes supporting students in need of special support, both individually and in small groups. You will also work with health-promoting and preventive measures from a special educational perspective and participate in assessments. You will conduct pedagogical investigations and handle related documentation. An important part of the job is to support and mentor teachers in creating conditions for the successful inclusion of students in need of special support. You also work on creating environments that promote students' learning, development, and health, as well as identifying and removing obstacles and causes of difficulties in their teaching and learning environments.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified special needs teacher with the qualification to teach in grades 4 to 9. You have experience in student health services within a team and good knowledge of compensatory learning tools. In addition, you possess good IT skills. It is meritorious if you have experience with low-affective handling (LAB), as well as work with individuals with neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPD). Furthermore, experience working with individuals with significant psychosocial needs is seen as an advantage.

As a person, you are calm, stable, and controlled in stressful situations. You maintain a realistic perspective on different situations and focus on the right things. You collaborate well with others and relate to your surroundings in a sensitive and flexible manner. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively. In times of change, you adapt easily to altered circumstances; you can easily adjust your viewpoint and approach.

With good pedagogical insight, you understand that students have different prerequisites for acquiring knowledge. In your teaching, you try to adapt learning to the student. In your work, you see the big picture and take the broader perspective into account. You understand your role but always consider the best interests of the entire operation in your actions and decisions.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.
