Uppsala AG is the municipal adapted upper secondary school in Uppsala and consists of two school units: Uppsala AG Fyris and Uppsala AG Jälla. In total, the school will have approximately 175 students and around 120 employees.

On the national programs, students study common subjects such as English, Swedish, mathematics, history, and physical education, as well as subjects related to their chosen program. The Arts Programme is one of these and is offered at Fyris AG.

Description of Duties

You will teach music on our national program for Artistic Activities. As a music teacher, your duties include planning and conducting lessons, and you have overall pedagogical responsibility for the students participating in the education. You should be a support for the students and have a holistic view of the student's development.

As a music teacher with us, you plan, conduct, and evaluate teaching based on each student's unique cognitive and communicative prerequisites. Since our students have different needs, flexibility and the ability to differentiate teaching are crucial. You break down creative processes into clear step-by-step instructions. You use visual aids, sign support, concrete materials, and digital tools to create predictability.

The work includes planning and conducting music teaching according to the curriculum and contributing to the development of the school's learning environment together with students and other staff.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a Swedish teaching license and have completed a music teacher education. Experience working with students with intellectual disabilities and experience working in an adapted upper secondary school are meritorious.

In your role, you adapt easily to changed circumstances. You can quickly change your perspective and approach, and you see opportunities in changes. As a person, you are calm, stable, and controlled in stressful situations. You maintain a realistic perspective on different situations and focus on the right things. With good pedagogical insight, you understand that students have different prerequisites for absorbing knowledge. In your teaching, you adapt to the student.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.
