Job Responsibilities
The position involves teaching and administration within the Occupational Therapy programme. The programme features Health Promotion and Preventive Occupational Therapy and Innovative Occupational Therapy as profile areas. These are recurring elements in the programme's courses. Teaching responsibilities include course coordination, course development, quality work, administration, and personal competence development. It also involves collaborating with relevant teachers, internal and external stakeholders, and taking responsibility for course planning along with associated administrative tasks. The job also requires keeping up with developments within one's own subject area and otherwise matters of significance for work at the university. The work requires flexibility with significant personal responsibility for the design and structure of the work. Teaching takes place, among other places, in a modern clinical training centre with facilities designated for the Occupational Therapy programme.
Qualifications
According to Uppsala University's Regulations on Employment (AO), eligible for appointment as a University Lecturer (Adjunkt) is someone who has completed a degree from higher education with subject specialization in occupational therapy or a related field, and has demonstrated pedagogical skill and completed relevant pedagogical training for the activity, comprising at least ten weeks, or equivalent knowledge. If there are special reasons, the higher education pedagogical training may be completed during the first two years of employment.
The applicant must have documented ability to teach in Swedish and preferably in English.
According to the university's regulations, a general qualification requirement for teachers is also to possess the personal qualities required to perform the duties well, such as thoroughness, sensitivity, independence, and good teamwork skills.
Selection Criteria
In the selection among qualified applicants, primary emphasis will be placed on pedagogical skill. Experience of teaching at the undergraduate level and experience of course development will be given weight. A license as an occupational therapist and a Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in occupational therapy, are meritorious and will be given particular weight. A doctoral degree in a relevant field and experience of clinical work as an occupational therapist are also meritorious.
When assessing pedagogical skill, pedagogical experience and quality should primarily be considered. The scope, both breadth and depth, should also be given weight. Furthermore, the ability to independently plan, initiate, lead, and develop education and teaching, as well as the ability to link teaching to research, should be given weight. The ability to interact on higher education pedagogical issues with actors within and outside the university is also part of pedagogical skill. See also Guidelines and selection criteria for recruitment and promotion of teachers in the field of medicine and pharmacy (RB) § 11.
When the university hires new teachers, applicants will be chosen who, after a qualitative overall assessment of competence and skill, are judged to have the best prerequisites for carrying out and developing current job responsibilities and contributing to a positive development of the operations.

Administrative skill is significant for the position and will be given weight. According to the regulations, administrative skill is demonstrated, among other things, by the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work in an effective and purpose-adapted manner, as well as by the ability to set and adhere to timeframes.
