We are looking for a motivated postdoctoral researcher interested in compiling and evaluating how physical activity can improve the health and well-being of sport and companion animals, as well as the emerging technologies and education needed for high-quality animal healthcare. You will join an international and interdisciplinary research group within veterinary rehabilitation.
About the job
Physical activity can contribute to, but also threaten health and well-being depending on how it is organized. This interdisciplinary project offers a unique opportunity to explore fundamental questions about physical activity for sport and companion animals, in order to provide future recommendations for a healthy life. Furthermore, the project offers an opportunity to study pain assessment education and investigate which technologies are relevant for future animal healthcare. As a postdoctoral researcher in the project, you will conduct analyses of published data or through data collection in collaboration with experts from other European countries.
Your background
We are looking for a motivated researcher with a PhD in veterinary medicine or a related field. The candidate preferably has previous experience with statistical tools and methods for analyzing published research data, such as meta-analyses or systematic literature reviews, as well as good communication skills in written and spoken English.
In the recruitment process, we will place great emphasis on the candidates' interest in the field, as well as personal qualities, teamwork skills, attention to detail, and independence.

The position is located at the Department of Clinical Sciences at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) in Uppsala, Sweden. The postdoctoral researcher will join a research environment with an extensive national and international network focusing on physical activity and veterinary rehabilitation. Active dissemination, outreach activities, and close contact with stakeholders in society are important activities. Based on national and international research collaborations, research and communication promoting good animal health are conducted.
