At the Department of Statistics, we conduct teaching at the undergraduate and advanced levels, as well as doctoral education. We conduct research in several areas, for example econometrics/time series analysis, high-dimensional multivariate data analysis, causal inference, and structural equation models. Respons

The position involves teaching within the field of statistics, with a focus on undergraduate and advanced level courses. The duties include lectures, problem-solving sessions, seminar supervision, and computer laboratories. Statistical consultation is also included in the responsibilities.

Qualifications

To be eligible for appointment as a University Lecturer, you must have completed an advanced degree in statistics or another subject area relevant to the position. Additionally, demonstrated pedagogical skill is required.

Particular emphasis will also be placed on personal qualities such as teamwork, responsibility, clarity, and engagement. The applicant is expected to contribute to a good educational environment and to the department's ongoing teaching activities. In the assessment, special weight will be given to pedagogical skill and experience in teaching statistics.

Desirable/Additional Merits

Experience in research within causal inference and biostatistics is particularly desirable. Experience in teaching probability theory, inference, and machine learning is particularly desirable.

About the Position

The appointment is fixed-term for 12 months. The position is full-time. Start date: 2026-09-28 or as agreed. Location: Uppsala.
