Description of duties

As a special needs teacher, you will work together with knowledgeable and experienced colleagues to develop and refine the school's work in making education accessible to all students. Together with the Student Health Service and other school professionals, you will create the conditions necessary to achieve our goal that all students can succeed and feel successful. You will work actively with students in need of special support and plan, implement, evaluate, and develop teaching based on regulatory documents and the organization's goals.

The role also includes conducting assessments and providing guidance by being a knowledgeable and attentive advisor in pedagogical matters, as well as suggesting suitable strategies, methods, materials, and tools in dialogue with others.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• Swedish teaching certification and a degree as a special needs teacher.
• Experience working as a special needs teacher.
• Several years of experience teaching at the primary school level.
• Good oral and written skills in Swedish.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish National Agency for Education's regulatory documents and curriculum.
• Knowledge of good learning environments and special needs pedagogy.

A university degree in special needs pedagogy, neuropsychological disabilities, reading and writing difficulties, or speech disorders is meritorious. Experience working with students in need of special support, psychosocial needs, or neuropsychiatric functional variations is meritorious. Experience with digital support tools and basic IT skills in Microsoft 365, ICT, ProRenata, and Unikum is also meritorious. Furthermore, knowledge of current research in special needs pedagogy is meritorious.

Through your social and outgoing nature, you build secure relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You communicate clearly and structurally, ensuring that your message reaches your students.
