About Ängby School

Ängby School is a grades F-6 school with approximately 350 students, located in the beautiful nature of Knivsta, right next to the Uppland Highway. Our unique proximity to forests and nature provides fantastic opportunities for outdoor pedagogy and movement in everyday life, which we see as an important part of the students' learning and well-being.

About the Position

Responsibilities

As an after school care teacher in preschool class, you play a central role in creating a safe, stimulating, and educational environment for the children both during school hours and at the after school care. You are responsible for planning and implementing pedagogical activities that support the children's social, emotional, and cognitive development. By adapting activities to the children's individual needs and interests, you contribute to their development of self-esteem, independence, and empathy.

An important part of your work involves promoting the children's social skills through both play and structured activities, as well as supporting them in developing a positive self-image. You create an atmosphere where the children feel safe, seen, and heard, and ensure that the environment is safe and stimulating.

You maintain regular contact with guardians to inform them about the children's development and well-being, and you collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement joint activities and projects.

Qualifications

• Certified teacher with a focus on after school care, or alternatively another pedagogical university education that the employer deems equivalent.
• Good knowledge of regulatory documents (Lgr22, especially the chapter on after school care).
• Documented experience of working in after school care or similar operations.
• Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate teaching in after school care.
• Competence to work in a language-developing and inclusive manner.
• Knowledge of students' learning, social development, and group processes.
• Ability to create meaningful and stimulating activities based on students' needs and interests.
• Ability to integrate play, creativity, and movement into the pedagogical work.
• Very good teamwork skills (working in a team with colleagues and school).
• Relationship-building and secure in meetings with students and guardians.
• Flexible and solution-focused.
• Clear leadership skills.
• Engaged and responsible.
• Experience of working in work groups and collaborating with the school.
• Ability to organize and structure operations.
• Digital competence (e.g., documentation, learning platforms).
• Experience of working with students in need of special support.

Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-08-11 or as agreed.
