Liljeforsskolan is a preschool to year 5 school located in the Gränby area. It is beautifully situated next to Gränby Park. Approximately 320 students attend the school, where around 50 staff members work. The school is one of Uppsala's schools selected for special support measures, which allows for larger staffing levels and smaller class sizes than at many other schools. The school is characterized by multilingualism and multiculturalism.

Description of duties

As a leisure center teacher, you will be part of a competent and committed collegium that jointly is responsible for and develops our leisure activities. You will collaborate with your colleagues to develop working methods and pedagogy at the leisure center. This also includes conducting pedagogical activities both indoors and outdoors. You are expected to contribute your pedagogical knowledge based on the compensatory mission of the leisure center, drive pedagogical development, and ensure meaningful content during leisure time. During the school day, you will serve as a resource for physical education lessons in grades 4–5. This also includes being on duty as a recess supervisor and leading recess activities.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a Swedish teaching license with eligibility for the leisure center. To succeed in the role, you need to have good knowledge of the school's and leisure center's governing documents, as well as the primary school curriculum. The work requires good oral and written skills in Swedish.

We would prefer that you have eligibility to teach in one or more of the school's subjects. Experience working in a leisure center and in a multilingual environment is considered meritorious.

You are flexible and adapt easily to the students' needs and the various situations in the operations. You are stable and secure in your role, creating a calm and predictable environment for the students. You have good collaboration skills and work smoothly together with colleagues, guardians, and other professionals, listening in and contributing to a positive work climate. At the same time, you have pedagogical insight and understand how students acquire knowledge and develop, which allows you to adapt activities and your approach based on each student's prerequisites.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.
