About the job

All study and career counsellors within Lidköping Municipality are part of the Child and Student Health area, regardless of whether the work is performed at the primary school, upper secondary school, or within adult education. The position will be directed towards De la Gardie Upper Secondary School in Lidköping Municipality.

Your duties will include providing guidance, support, and information to students. You will also work with admissions questions, study planning, individual guidance interviews, and other related tasks. In addition to collaborating with teachers, school management, and student health services, you will also work with other functions at the school.

We are looking for you who have a degree in study and career guidance. It is an advantage if you also have experience in guidance work within upper secondary school. We see that you have a genuine interest in work that involves motivating individuals and giving them the prerequisites to learn and take personal responsibility. As a person, you are flexible, development-oriented, and have good collaboration skills. You can also plan and prioritize so that tasks are carried out within the set time.

You are a social, outgoing, and creative person. You enjoy meeting with students and find it easy to build trusting relationships. Since we work in teams, collaboration is an important part of your working style, and you contribute to a positive work environment for both students and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Education as a study and career counsellor
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English
• Ability to express yourself well in both speech and writing

Fixed-term employment from November 2, 2026, until April or as agreed, with a scope of 100%.

Before employment, we will request that you present an extract from the criminal record register (Chapter 2, Section 31 of the Education Act). The extract is requested via the Criminal Record Register - request extract | Swedish Police Authority (polisen.se). It usually takes between 1-2 weeks to receive it by mail.

Criminal Record Extract

Before an employment offer is made, you as a candidate are required to present an extract from the criminal record register for work in any of the following areas: school or preschool, work with children in activities other than school and childcare, work with children according to LSS (Act for Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), work at or in connection with HVB homes (homes for care or residence), work with the elderly or persons with disabilities. You order the extract via the Police website. The extract must be presented before employment can begin.
