About the job

Are you a nursing assistant/specialist nursing assistant driven by engagement and with the goal of creating safety and meaning for the residents every day, as well as providing each individual with good care? We are launching a new department at Björkhaga Elderly Care Home and are now looking for nursing assistants and a specialist nursing assistant for a new team. Here you will have the opportunity to help shape and develop the operations.

In the community of Järpås, about 2 miles south of Lidköping, lies Björkhaga Elderly Care Home. With both train and bus connections, there is the possibility of varied work with people. We hope you want to work with us!

Job Responsibilities

As a nursing assistant with us, you contribute to good care and support for the residents in their homes. You will work with care adapted to the individual's needs. This can include social and physical activities, both individually and in groups. In your work, you help the resident with healthcare and rehabilitation interventions as prescribed by nurses, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists.

For you as a nursing assistant, being a key person is part of your work, meaning you have special responsibility for one or more individuals. You help create good relationships with colleagues, residents, and relatives. Your work also includes ongoing documentation and responsibility for creating, following up, and revising implementation plans.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have a genuine interest in working with people and who meet each individual based on their needs and wishes. You are confident in yourself and as a person have the ability to take initiative and create trusting relationships based on care and empathy. You need to be perceptive and able to read the resident's needs.

You are positive and take responsibility for your work and the operations. You contribute to a good work climate and have good teamwork skills as you actively participate in team work.

Having previously worked and/or having advanced knowledge and education in the dementia field as well as BPSD administration is meritorious.

For the position of specialist nursing assistant, we are looking for you with a completed university college education as a specialist nursing assistant. For employment, you are required to attach grades with your application that prove your eligibility.

Requirements:

To be employed in the role of nursing assistant, you need to attach proof of protected job title with your application, or alternatively a certificate from your current employer that proves that you had/have a permanent position as a nursing assistant as of July 1, 2023.

• Proficiency in Swedish in speech and writing, as well as good reading comprehension.
• Basic digital competence.

Meritorious:

• Healthcare and Social Care College Diploma.
• Experience of similar work and/or education in dementia.
• Experience with documentation.

Other

We are looking for nursing assistants and a specialist nursing assistant for Björkhaga Elderly Care Home. You will work scheduled hours such as day, evening, weekend. The positions are permanent positions with 100% employment rate.

Access to the position is as soon as possible according to agreement.

Your employment will be within the Sector Social Welfare of Lidköping Municipality, which means that you may be asked to work at units other than Björkhaga Elderly Care Home.

Criminal Record Extract

Before being offered employment, you as a candidate are required to show an extract from the criminal record register when working in any of the following areas; school or preschool, work with children in other activities than school and childcare, work with children according to LSS, work at or in connection with HVB homes, work with elderly or people with disabilities. You order the extract via the Police's website. The extract must be presented before employment can begin.
