The Care and Elderly Services Department is one of Borås City's largest departments. Our health and medical care organization consists of approximately 300 employees distributed across ten health and medical care teams. We work in a team-based and cross-professional manner with the patient's best interests as our focus.
Are you a registered nurse looking for a developing and meaningful job? We are now recruiting nurses for both Care and Support Housing and Ordinary Housing for our teams in Brämhult, Norrby/Sandhult, Dalsjöfors, and City Centre! Here you will have the opportunity to grow in your role, whether you are a recent graduate seeking your first job as a registered nurse or if you have some experience in the profession.
About the operationsWith us, you will meet patients where they are – in their homes. This is work that requires independence and commitment. We work closely together with experienced colleagues within both the nursing group and other professions. In our health and medical care operations, there are good conditions for collaboration and cooperation both within your own team and between teams. We help each other and constantly learn from one another. At the same time, in your role as a nurse, you have great freedom under responsibility to work independently and the opportunity to plan and carry out your own work.
When you start your employment with us, you will receive an individually adapted introduction that provides you with good prerequisites and a secure, stable start to your new assignment. We also offer mentoring when you have completed your introduction and when the time is right. We know that the opportunity to turn to an experienced and knowledgeable nurse for advice and support is appreciated.
Job ResponsibilitiesThe job responsibilities include assessing, planning, and structuring work for the individual patient and their relatives based on a person-centered approach. You follow up and document according to current legislation. As a nurse, you work independently and have patient responsibility. You work in close collaboration with your colleagues such as nurses, assistant nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and rehabilitation assistants. If you work in Care and Support Housing, you also collaborate with the unit manager and care staff at the facility, as well as the round physician. The same applies if you work with patients in ordinary housing, i.e., collaboration with the unit manager and care staff in home care services.
Collaboration with various healthcare providers such as the hospital and health centers is part of everyday life. The job responsibilities include developing operations and supervising and educating care staff in health and medical care interventions.
We know that working as a nurse is meaningful, varied, and developing, but also that it can sometimes be challenging. Therefore, a good work climate is particularly important to us, which we create through well-being, team spirit, and joy in work, and by trusting and supporting each other in daily work.
QualificationsYou are a registered nurse with the eligibility to work within Swedish healthcare, and we would like to see that you have had some time to work in your professional role. Experience working with our target groups is meritorious. You have a good attitude towards people, enjoy working with humans, and have the desire to make a difference for those we serve. We value that you are confident in yourself and in your nursing role and that you can work independently. You are responsible and engaged in your work, professional in your assessments and decisions, and you adapt easily to changed circumstances and new information. In the role, you need to have a good overview of current tasks and interventions; the ability to independently organize and follow up on your work is therefore important.
We place great emphasis on your ability to collaborate and try to find solutions in agreement with all contacts you have, whether it concerns relatives, staff within primary care, inpatient care, or other actors. You have a collegial approach and contribute to a good atmosphere in the group.
Since the role of a nurse involves leading others, you need to have the ability to explain and guide, educate, and inform in a pedagogical manner. You can express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and have good experience with IT-based journal systems.
If you have specialized training in geriatrics, district nursing, dementia, psychiatry, or palliative care, this is meritorious, and a specialist position may become relevant.
We require that you have a B driver's license.
Before an offer of employment, an extract from the police criminal record must be presented. As we are developing our IT security within Borås City, you must also ensure that you have Freja eID.
