Description

The Neuropsychiatric Clinic for Children and Adolescents (BNK) is a specialized unit at Sahlgrenska University Hospital that assesses children and adolescents up to 18 years of age with neuropsychiatric disabilities. Approximately 25 people work at the unit, many of whom combine their clinical duties with research. The activity is characterized by high competence and a high degree of collaboration, conducted from a multidisciplinary perspective. The team includes doctors, psychologists, speech therapists, special education teachers, nurses, and medical/administrative secretaries.

The unit's three teams focus on preschool children, school-aged children with more complex neuropsychiatric issues, and children with a complex neuropsychiatric symptom profile, such as those with genetic syndromes, epilepsy, and other neurological conditions.

The Neuropsychiatric Clinic for Children and Adolescents collaborates with the University of Gothenburg in clinical research and development.

Responsibilities

The main responsibility is to participate in multidisciplinary assessment and diagnosis for children and adolescents with suspected neuropsychiatric disabilities, as well as to recommend and promote habilitation measures.

The work includes providing information about assessment results to parents and educational staff, together with other team members, and helping children and adolescents understand their own disabilities.

Education for guardians is an important part of the assessment, as is collaboration with neighboring care providers and others in the child's network.

Qualifications

Registered Psychologist.

We are looking for you who have experience in neuropsychological and neuropsychiatric assessment of children. We place great emphasis on the ability to work independently as well as interest in and ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams. Personal suitability will be given significant weight.

Conditions

The position is a temporary vacancy during the period 2026-10-01 to 2027-09-30.
