If you thrive in a dynamic, politically governed organization, want to contribute to positive societal development, and develop professionally in your role – then this job is for you!

Your Responsibilities

You will become part of the City Council Office (Stadskansliet), a workplace with high engagement and several competent colleagues in the same role. We have a supportive work climate and offer good opportunities for both competence development and internal career paths. At the City Council Office, we continuously work on developing our own operations, and you will become an important part of this. With us, you will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced leaders and elected officials, while growing professionally yourself.

  • Actively participate in preparatory meetings and support politicians in their decision-making.
  • Contribute to developing the unit's working methods and processes for even smoother workflows.
  • Drive and participate in improvement work that strengthens the municipality's internal efficiency and quality.

During your first period, you will have an assigned "mentor" who is responsible for your introduction and helps you get started in the work.

Requirements:

We are looking for you who have:

  • A university degree in political science, law, public administration, or another relevant field.
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish, both in speech and writing (you express yourself clearly and professionally).
  • Documented experience in qualified administrative work, preferably within the public sector.
  • Work experience as a Board Secretary or in managing decision minutes in other contexts.

Merits:

  • Experience with the Ciceron system.

Personal Qualities:

To succeed in the role, we believe you are a person who is structured and meticulous with an eye for detail. You have analytical skills and can interpret regulations and information with confidence. At the same time, you are self-reliant and take responsibility, but also appreciate collaboration and are skilled at building good relationships. You are flexible and remain calm even when conditions change, and you have the ability to prioritize and organize your work effectively even under time pressure. In short, you enjoy responsibility and have the drive required to keep complex processes in order. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

We offer you

As an employee of Södertälje Municipality, you are offered a secure employment, good terms of employment and working environment, competence development, and several benefits. Södertälje Municipality works with competence-based recruitment methodology to counteract discrimination and promote diversity in the workplace.

We have many positions where we conduct a register check. A certificate of good conduct (criminal record and suspicion register) from the Swedish Police Authority may therefore need to be presented by the candidate before a decision on employment is made.

An employment with us may involve placement in a security classification.
