The Swedish Institute for Educational Research (Skolforskningsinstitutet) is a government agency working to ensure that education in preschools and schools is based on scientific evidence. We achieve this by compiling research results on methods and approaches in teaching and by financing practice-oriented educational research. The target audience for the institute's activities includes preschool teachers, school teachers, and other professionals working in preschools, schools, and adult education.
Located at Västgötagatan 5 on Södermalm in Stockholm, we offer stimulating tasks, competent colleagues, a creative working environment in an activity-based landscape, and the opportunity to work remotely for part of your working hours. The institute currently has 22 employees, more than half of whom are PhD researchers.
Description
With a long-term increased budget, we are now able to grow, and we are therefore looking for a communicator who wants to help shape the future with us. As a communicator, you play a key role in driving and developing the institute's work to make research results accessible and reach our target audiences in preschools and schools. You will work closely with our communications strategist, colleagues within the communications function, and other employees at the agency.
Responsibilities
The role of communicator includes, among other things:
- Creating and publishing content in various formats, such as text, images, and video, across different channels (website, newsletters, and social media).
- Project managing and conducting webinars, seminars, and conferences.
- Proactively reaching out to our priority target groups: preschool teachers, school teachers, special education teachers, and principals/school leaders.
- Supporting our researchers in communicating about their projects.
- Performing other common communication tasks.
Qualifications
You should:
- Have a relevant completed higher education degree in communications, journalism, or another field that the Swedish Institute for Educational Research considers equivalent.
- Have experience working with research communication in a government agency or knowledge organization.
- Be a skilled writer with excellent knowledge of Swedish and English.
- Have experience publishing material in newsletters and social media.
- Have experience adapting communication to different target groups.
- Have experience working with plain language (klarspråk).
- Have experience working with communication across various channels (text, images, and video).
- Have experience working externally and building networks.
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience in teaching and schools.
- Familiarity with web publishing.
During the recruitment process, we will place great emphasis on personal qualities. We are looking for a communicative person who is engaged and proactive. You are easy to collaborate with, while also having a strong ability to work independently.
Conditions
The position is a permanent employment with a start date by agreement. For this position, the Swedish Institute for Educational Research will apply a six-month probationary period.
