Job Description

As a special needs teacher at Elinelundsskolan, you are expected to plan, implement, follow up, and evaluate special educational support measures for students in grades 4–9. The role involves supplementary instruction, mapping, observations, and pedagogical assessments at the individual, group, and organizational levels. You actively work to create conditions for students' academic and social development, contributing to their reaching their full potential based on their prerequisites and the goals of education.

The assignment includes identifying students' support needs, proposing and implementing adjustments, and monitoring the effectiveness of interventions. As a special needs teacher, you collaborate closely with teaching staff, work teams, guardians, and the student health team. You serve as a qualified resource in matters concerning language, reading, and writing development, contributing special educational expertise to the school's development work. Supervision and consultation for teachers may be part of the role. You are responsible for documentation and screenings regarding language, reading, and writing development, as well as analyzing results to identify student needs and plan appropriate interventions.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified primary and secondary school teacher and hold a degree as a special needs teacher with a specialization in language, writing, and reading development. Previous experience working as a special needs teacher and experience teaching in grades 4–9 are considered meritorious. You must have good knowledge of the school's governing documents and the ability to apply them in your daily work. It is important that you have strong didactic and pedagogical skills, as well as knowledge of relevant digital tools.

Elinelundsskolan is located in the middle of a developing neighborhood in the southern parts of Malmö. We are close to exciting nature near the limestone quarry, and our learning environments create good conditions for teaching and learning. The school is newly built with modern facilities, staff workrooms, and group rooms for all home classes. The school is a grades F–9 school with approximately 720 students.
