Lund University was founded in 1666 and is consistently ranked among the world's leading universities. We have approximately 46,000 students and 8,500 employees in Lund, Helsingborg, and Malmö. We are united in our strive to understand, explain, and improve our world and the conditions of human life.
Workplace Description
The Lung Biology research group at the Department of Experimental Medical Science, led by Gunilla Westergren-Thorsson, is seeking a Research Engineer. The group's primary task is to investigate the mechanisms behind chronic lung diseases such as allergic asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). These diseases involve structural remodeling of the lung, and currently, there are no effective treatments that can reverse the pathological changes associated with these conditions. Through our research, we hope to contribute to the understanding of fundamental molecular mechanisms by mapping how the interaction between specific lung cells, immune cells, and the surrounding extracellular tissue contributes to disease progression.
Lund University is a government agency, which means you will receive special benefits, generous vacation time, and a favorable pension plan.
