The Music School in Bjuv

The Music School in Bjuv consists of a creative and dedicated team of approximately 8–10 educators. In addition to music, we offer art and dance. We consider it a given that we work as a team where collaboration is an important part of our daily work.

The Music School is part of the Culture Unit within the Culture and Leisure Administration. Other operations include the library, art hall, cultural heritage, as well as work with culture in schools and general culture. The Music School is a visible actor in the municipality's cultural life.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a flexible and dedicated music pedagogue for the upcoming school year. The position covers a total of 60% and consists of two parts. You can apply for a combined role or apply for only one of the parts.

• 40% Piano: A temporary position in an existing role. Piano is an established activity where continuity is important for the students. We are looking for a confident and dedicated piano pedagogue who can take over an existing student group.
• 20% Singing: A new subject. Singing is a new subject at our music school. Here you have the opportunity to help build the school's initiative in individual singing lessons.

Your Tasks

Piano Teaching (40%): You will substitute for one of our permanent teachers and provide individual instruction for children and young people. You will meet students at different levels and support them in their musical development.

Singing Project (20%): You will drive and shape the music school's new initiative. We will start individual singing lessons. This involves pedagogical work, planning, and implementation of project goals.

Collaboration and Concerts: You plan and conduct concerts, performances, and closures, usually together with the colleagues at the music school. You will become part of a dedicated work team at the music school where collaboration and concerts are a natural part of the operations. You will also provide accompaniment for orchestra lessons once a week.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who can quickly adapt to an existing operation while having the drive to build up an initiative in a new subject.

Requirements for the position:

• University education in music (e.g., music pedagogue or music teacher) or equivalent experience assessed by the employer as equivalent.
• Experience teaching piano and/or singing for children and young people.

Merits:

• Experience in project management within culture or school.
• Ability to accompany singing students on the piano.
• Previous experience from a municipal music school.

Personal qualities:

You are proactive, structured, and have good communication skills. You easily create safe relationships with children and young people and enjoy working purposefully within a project framework.

Other Information

The position involves work in the afternoons and evenings. A police certificate of good conduct is required before employment.
