Flexible Special Education Teacher with Social-Pedagogical Experience Sought for Furuboda Upper Secondary School

The Furuboda Association runs a folk high school, upper secondary school, labor market training programs, residential care facilities (HVB), conference activities, and an assistance company. The operations are based at our main facility south of Åhus and at our branches in Kristianstad, Malmö, Lund, and Karlskrona.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who wants to make a real difference and support our students at Furuboda Upper Secondary School within the Natural Resources Program (with specializations in animals and horticulture) in Yngsjö, as well as the Individualized Program (IMV and IMY).

At Furuboda Upper Secondary School, we work to promote students' learning and personal development through close collegial collaboration and an active student health service to create good learning environments.

With your experience as a special education teacher, you will work in the classroom together with teaching staff to provide the support, guidance, and stimulation that students need for their learning and personal development. As needed, you may meet with students individually to support and help them progress in their studies. You will also serve as a support for our students in social contexts outside the classroom.

You meet each student based on their individual prerequisites and have good knowledge of people's different abilities to absorb knowledge. This may involve supporting students both during lessons and in situations such as breaks or other social contexts. The role requires the ability to read people and act according to the needs you observe. We are looking for a responsible, innovative, and positive person who inspires, motivates, and spreads joy. You should have strong empathy and a willingness to work with students who find school particularly challenging. You are positive, self-assured, flexible, independent, creative, and collaborative.

Employment extent: 85% holiday service position, 6-month probationary employment.

Qualifications

We are looking for a special education teacher who can support students in the Natural Resources and Individualized Programs. We prefer that you have experience working in upper secondary schools or later years of compulsory school. Experience in social-pedagogical contexts with social support is an advantage. You are flexible and have a salutogenic approach.
