Job Description

As a special needs educator (specialpedagog) at Elinelundsskolan, you work at the individual, group, and organizational levels to promote an accessible learning environment for all students. You are responsible for conducting pedagogical assessments, investigations, and analyses that support the school's work with extra adjustments and special support.

The role includes mentoring and supporting teachers and work teams in special educational matters, as well as contributing a special educational perspective to the school's development and quality work. You work preventively and promotively by identifying barriers and development opportunities in learning environments, and by proposing and following up on interventions that strengthen student participation and learning. As a special needs educator, you are expected to contribute to the development of inclusive working methods and support the operation in meeting the diverse needs of students. The position may also include responsibility for individual support measures for students, as well as monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of these measures. As part of the student health team, you collaborate with other professionals to provide comprehensive support for students' learning, development, and well-being.

Qualifications

You hold a teaching license for grades 4-9 with qualification in Swedish and a degree in special education. Experience teaching in grades 4-9 is required. Experience working as a special needs educator is considered an advantage. Previous experience leading school development and special educational change work is also considered advantageous. You have insight and knowledge regarding school development and the school's governing documents, and can apply them in your daily work. You have acquired knowledge and experience in supervision/training, student health work, and working with documentation, pedagogical investigations, extra adjustments, and special support/action plans.

You have strong didactic and pedagogical skills, allowing you to lead and organize work towards the student(s) to create study peace and a good learning environment throughout the day. Based on evidence-based research, we expect you to develop your work and be familiar with using relevant digital tools. Naturally, you have a professional attitude and work to build good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school.

Elinelundsskolan is located in the middle of a developing neighborhood in the southern parts of Malmö. We are close to exciting nature near the limestone quarry, and our learning environments create good conditions for teaching and learning. The school is newly built with modern facilities, work rooms for staff, and group rooms for all home classes. The school is a comprehensive school (F-9) with approximately 720 students.
