SJR is now looking for a Junior Accountant for a temporary assignment with a non-profit organization located on Södermalm in central Stockholm. The position is full-time, starts in early September, and initially runs for six months, with the ambition to transition into a direct employment with the client afterwards. The organization operates on a hybrid model where you work from the office three days a week, with the option to work from home on the remaining days if desired.

About the role

As an accountant with an international non-profit organization, you will become part of a dedicated finance team where you handle the ongoing bookkeeping that forms the basis for financial reporting. Responsibilities

• Ongoing bookkeeping
• Handling currency transactions, such as buying and selling foreign currency
• Administration of expense reports and employee advances
• Administration of grant payments
• Perform monthly account reconciliations
• Communication with the bank regarding payment matters
• Ensuring that work complies with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have approximately three years of experience in accounting and a post-secondary education in business administration, preferably with a focus on accounting or controlling. You have a good understanding of Swedish accounting principles and are accustomed to working in financial systems as well as having good skills in Excel. Experience from the non-profit sector, project accounting, or working in ERP systems is considered a merit. Furthermore, international experience or an interest in social issues is positive. Experience with Maconomy is a plus.
