We are now looking for an experienced Economist/Controller for a long-term consulting assignment.

• Scope: Full-time 100%

• Start: Immediately

• Duration: Until 2027-08-30

You will be employed by Poolia but work at our client's premises.

There is an opportunity for some remote work.

Background:

The client operates a development hub and collaboration platform focused on developing future sustainable food systems. The activities are conducted in a project format where business, academia, and society meet, and are financed by regional, national, and European funds. They are located at Södertälje Science Park.

Responsibilities:

Main responsibilities:

• Ongoing analysis, forecasting, and monitoring of large and complex project budgets.

• Ensuring correct accounting and reconciliations with external funders and the municipality's internal administration.

• Pedagogically presenting and communicating budget results and economic analyses to project managers, steering groups, and partners.

• Handling invoice flows, e-commerce, and authority requirements regarding archiving.

Who we are looking for:

To be considered for the role, you must meet the following criteria:

• University education with a focus on economics or equivalent.

• At least 5 years of professional experience as a controller or in a comparable qualified economic role.

• Documented experience working with budgeting, follow-up, and forecasting in the public sector.

• Good familiarity with the economic system 'Ekonomi' and the e-commerce/ERP system 'Unit4 ERP'.

• Very good knowledge of the Office package, with a focus on Excel.

• Languages: Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish, as well as good knowledge of English.

Merits:

• Experience in financial reporting to one or more of the following funders: Tillväxtverket (Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth), Swedish ESF Council, Vinnova, the Swedish Board of Agriculture, or regions, as well as familiarity with their specific reporting systems.

To thrive in this assignment, you are someone who combines a sharp numerical sense and an analytical working method with flexible and solution-oriented thinking. You are not afraid to dive into complex bureaucratic issues, but also have a distinct pedagogical inclination.
